A ‘direct cremation’ – also known as a simple or unattended funeral – is a funeral without a crematorium or church ceremony.
The term ‘unattended’ means family don’t attend a ceremony at the crematorium.
A Midlands Direct Cremation doesn’t mean there is no-one in attendance at the cremation – the professionals who work at the crematorium will be there, ensuring that a respectful, dignified cremation takes place.
With a Midland Direct Cremation, when someone dies, the family will call us ‘direct’. Which means they don’t need a funeral director as we will take care of all of the arrangements – and you don’t have to pay any funeral director fees.
We collect the person who has died in a private ambulance and bring them into our care. We have all our own state-of-the-art facilities, so someone can rest at peace until their cremation, which takes place at our own crematoria set in peaceful setting.
We will then return the ashes to you in a bio-degradable box to the address.
All the essentials included
You will be brought into our care, prepared for cremation at our professional mortuary and transported to one of our crematoriums for the respectful cremation to take place.
A simple yet personal farewell
The coffin enters the crematorium to a piece of music personally selected by you or your family. Our team will respectfully bow as the curtains gently close around the coffin.
The chance for remembrance
Your loved ones will be informed of the cremation date if they wish to be. They can hold an alternative memorial at the same time or simply take a moment of quiet reflection.
A choice for the ashes
Following the cremation, ashes can either be scattered at the peaceful crematorium gardens or we will personally return them within 14 days for your family to keep, bury or scatter.
